There is no admission fee for visitors to see many of the works on display around the National Galleries of Scotland's complexes. However, some of our exhibitions have an admission charge.

Purchasing
Exhibition tickets can be purchased in a number of ways. There will be a clearly signposted ticket desk at the exhibition venue. There may be a telephone booking service and/or an online ticket system accessible from our main website. Details of ticket purchasing options for specific exhibitions can always be found in the What’s On section of our website.

Pricing
Details of specific exhibition pricing can be found in the What’s On section of our website. Concession pricing will appear within brackets after the main price, for instance 'Tickets £6 (£4)' indicates a concession price of £4.

For all exhibitions with an admission charge, the following rules apply:

Free

  • 12 years and under
  • personal carer to registered disabled

Concession

  • Children aged 13 - 16 inclusive
  • OAPs - with proof
  • Registered Disabled people
  • Students
  • People on a low income in receipt of one of the following:
  • income support
  • housing benefit
  • working tax credit
  • People whose sole income is from Department for Work and Pensions benefits
  • Art Fund members

In all cases, proof of status is required either at the time of purchase or prior to entry to the exhibition.

Gift Aid Tickets
When purchasing tickets for exhibitions in person from the exhibition venues or Weston Link Information Desk, there will be an option to buy Gift Aid tickets. Gift Aid tickets include a 10% donation above the standard ticket price.

Adding this donation allows the National Galleries of Scotland, as a registered charity, to apply to the government for an extra 28% on top of the Gift Aid ticket price. This will cost the ticket buyer nothing beyond the price of the Gift Aid ticket itself.

Gift Aid tickets are only appropriate if the ticket purchaser is a UK taxpayer. More information can be found on the HM Revenue & Customs website.

Summer Saver Tickets
For the Summer Season 2008 exhibitions, including Foto, Vanity Fair Portraits, Impressionism & Scotland and Tracey Emin, visitors will be able to choose from our range of Summer Saver tickets. Saver Tickets enable visitors to enter any 2, 3 or 4 exhibitions, depending on the type of Saver Ticket purchased. There are also Concession Saver ticket options.

Summer Saver tickets will also be available to purchase online through our Online Shop.

Please note that Summer Saver tickets will be available to purchase from the Weston Link Information Desk from 7th June 2008, and from each exhibition's venue ticket desks from the opening date of that exhibition.
