The National Galleries of Scotland has a remit both to research the collection and to facilitate outside research by making the Gallery libraries, archives and print rooms available to the public.
Gallery staff write articles and deliver regular public lectures on the collection and the temporary exhibitions. Visitors are welcome at all our gallery research resources, which are open by appointment.
The Galleries also has a duty of care towards the collection. Our conservation specialists employ a range of techniques and technologies to preserve the condition of the artworks.
