From Madrid to Edinburgh: How Titian’s two masterpieces came to Scotland
Titian’s Diana and Actaeon and Diana and Callisto are amongst the most widely admired and influential of all Italian Renaissance paintings.
They were painted in Venice in the 1550s for King Philip II of Spain, then the most powerful monarch in the world.
This eTour traces some key moments in the history of the paintings, from their creation to their current position as two of the greatest paintings on display at the National Gallery of Scotland.
